Media Editing Lesson Plan
Lesson: 1 - Local drives, folder and files.

Purpose: Learn how to create folders and files. Rename the folder and learn the location of the folder and usage of standard folders.

Materials Required

Desktop or Laptop computer.

Curriculum Content 1.) Drive,
1.a) Creating & renaming a folder,
1.b) Location and usage of standard folders.
Prior knowledge

Students should have basic Computer knowledge like switch on and off the computer, right click, left click and double click.

Exercise: 1

Finding the treasure hunt using clues given. All this will be done through a treasure hunt game in the computer.

Exercise: 3

Students should create a folder in D drive. After creating it, move the folder to C drive and then rename the folder to “My favorites”.

Teacher's Instruction
  1. While the students learn, the teacher should observe whether they articulate the words like search, location, drive and are familiar with these terms.
  2. Teachers guide the students to do the activity.
  3. Teachers should observe whether the students are following the instructions to do the treasure hunt activity.
  4. Teachers may guide the students to recall their previous knowledge of folders, files, local drives and removable drives and understand the differences between them.
